It's no Paris, by any stretch, but it has some lovely parts and hosts an Alpage festival every fall that's quite fun. As for Paris, we'll play it by ear...

NG: Janeen said she was going to tell people she'd made it to Venice, because of the canal. I suppose Annecy could be a stand-in for many places, eh?

Maya: I thought that was interesting, too. I mean, they're so close to Albertville, I can't imagine the French government building entirely new facilities to host an Olympics 10 miles down the road from the last place they held one. Plus, this area is littered with past Olympic venues--Albertville, Chamonix, St. Moritz, Grenoble, Cortina, and Turin. And that's just France, Italy, and Switzerland. There have been games in Austria and Germany as well. I have a feeling South Korea will be the next host in 2018.Janet M Kincaidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15927469354253835774noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2771974470951187283.post-67304190121146378242010-02-18T20:18:33.627+01:002010-02-18T20:18:33.627+01:00I love these surprises.
