Rouge

The Moulin Rouge : Pigalle, Paris, FR

After visiting the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur, we walked down to the Moulin Rouge (French for red windmill) to snap a few pictures of this Paris icon. To see a few more photos--some taken in August last year and the rest taken last week--go here.

I covet this photo!

What kind of camera are you using these days?

NG: I had several others that were as good (or maybe better...). I'll post them to my Facebook albums in a day or two. As for cameras, I'm using my brand, spanking-new Nikon D5000 with an 18-200 lens. I heart my Nikon. :-)

Wow this is a great shot

I especially like that the image expands out past the frame. As if the subject is too large to catch it all at once. A definite bump up from the traditional tourism shot.

Mo: Thanks!

Carolyn: I like this one, too. I have others that are wider shots, but somehow the windmill and the cabaret get lost in everything else around it. (Which is how a lot of tourist shots end up, right?!)

Fantastic! Love your photo and love this time of day when the city lights pop on. So much fun for photography. I'm guessing your loving that camera.

The colour and definition is great. Is this the same camera you had just bought last year? Or a different one?

Oooh, good time of day to see it. I like the color of the sky against the red!
