Western sand dunes : Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, Spain
Jan and Christa and their dogs, Felix and Candy, often go for long walks out to the coast. They took us on one such walk our first full day on the island.

Volcanic rock and sea sand : Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, Spain
Fuerteventura was once covered in active volcanoes, which explains the mix of sand from the sea and volcanic rock from the island combining to make these dunes. Here are a few photos of Fuerteventura's west coast.

These are beautiful!
I just discovered your wonderful photos as a result your comment today on my wife's Scottsdale Daily Photo site.
I realize that people do not get very political on the Daily Photo sites, but I agree with your comments. You have more insight from France than many Americans in the midst of this crazy campaign season.
Luis: Thank you!
Dave CRDP: Welcome! I hope my comments were okay. I tried to temper them so as not to create a brouhaha. As an American expat living overseas and a former resident of the District of Columbia, what is happening in America is of great interest to me. I continue to find the polarization of political discourse disturbing and long for a more civilized, rational discussion. If I overstepped on your wife's site, I apologize. I hope the midterm elections will bring positive results for the U.S., but I fear that they will just further divide us.
Awesome shots, Janet! Good to see you're still shooting. Thanks for dropping by my blog again too.
Your shots came out great! I need to get a polarizer!
Thanks, Bernie!
Maya: Christmas...
