Luis: I lived on 14th and S for about three years and then moved up to Brightwood, just off of Georgia Avenue and near Walter Reed. There was talk for a while that the Mission Shelter was going to move to an area around Georgia and Kansas Avenues NW. (Un)fortunately, the neighbors and business owners protested in classic NIMBY fashion. It's sad that we even need homeless shelters, but even sadder that no one wants one in their neighborhood...

These are great. You are right, the building is still serving as a shelter. The Mission has not still found a new building in the city.
