Madrid on the Rebound

Smooth Jazz meets Fussy Monument : Parque del Retiro : Madrid, ES

Coming home from Fuerteventura, we overnighted once again in Madrid. We were too tired to go out the evening we arrived, but the next morning we went out for a couple of hours and visited the Parque del Retiro.

Real meets Imagined : Parque del Retiro : Madrid, ES

The walkways all feature names of countries in South and Central America. It was quite lovely and featured some unique art pieces and monuments. To see photos in the park, go here.

I've seen street musicians in DC, Frisco, . . . lots of places, but I'm just trying to imagine them in Birmingham and it's just not coming into focus. Maybe they're there and I just haven't noticed.

Fabulous photos. What is it about street musicians that is mesmerising?

Larry: Talk to Virginia. I think she's photographed one or two. The funny part is, this guy was on one end playing his sax and at the other end of this memorial, there was another guy also playing his sax. It was crazy!

Cele: Thank you! I find them mesmerizing, too. I think it's a combination of vulnerability and talent that draws us in.
