No Subject No. 1 : Ferney-Voltaire, FR
This week, in our photography class, the assignment was to shoot or provide a photo with no subject. This isn't as easy as you'd think, especially if your accustomed to either shooting with a subject in mind or looking at abstract photos, but not really thinking of them as lacking a subject. I used two really crappy photos as examples of no subject, but then realized this evening--thanks to Maya's quick eye--that the above photo would have been great for this assignment.

That is REALLY nice!
Parfait! :-)
It's a little hard to see the color in it, however, with all those colors competing for attention in the background...
This is great. Surely tho all photos have a subject, even if it's a blank wall with perhaps a shadow. There is beauty there - perhaps subtlety of colour, whatever?
I've stopped going to the photography class I started last October, simply because most of the class is about film photography and I wasn't going to the special studio where they develop the film. Not that I'm not interested in film but there's too much more I want to learn about digital. Is your class on digital or both?
Jilly: I agree! It's impossible I think to take a photo with "no" subject. You can have too many subjects!
Our class is all about digital luckily which is what I need to learn. Or, at least learn how to do on my digital camera what I did on my film camera. :-)
Lucky you. Wish we had such a class in Menton. Not that I think you need a class...
There are a few technical things I need to learn and how to get around the menus etc.
I don't think you need a class either!
