In addition to her skills as a wordsmith and slayer of grammar gaffes, Janet is also a talented photographer. As a lifestyle photographer, Janet's photos have a photojournalistic flare that attempt to tell a story and go beyond your typical tourist shot or family pose.
As a photographer, she is best known for shooting and writing about Washington, D.C., at D.C. Confidential. She was featured as a photoblogger on DC Blogs and is a participant in the City Daily Photo blogger group. Her current blog, The F-Stops Here... features photography from her life experiences in the French town of Ferney-Voltaire and her travels around Europe.
Janet is available for: family lifestyle and individual portraiture; public and private events; travel and tourism stints, including clients who are interested in BYOP (Bring Your Own Photographer); architecture and structural; food and cooking; and nature photography. Pricing is set on a client-by-client basis.
Janet's photography has been featured on CNN International in an article about brutalism in architecture. A photo of children playing on sculptor Seward Johnson's The Awakening is featured in a book about the local art scene in Washington, D.C., being published by the Washington Arts Museum. She has also shown her work in local photo competitions. Her favorite photo, "Lincoln at Sunrise", received the 2008 People's Choice Award at the Monuments of Faith exhibit in Kensington, Maryland.
Janet shoots with a Nikon D5000, Nikon D700, and Canon A630.
