Clock tower and pediment on the Hôtel de Ville de Lyon : Lyon, FR
One of the things I love about Europe are all the beautiful, old buildings. The architecture is classical and solid, but it's the details that often leave me breathless. The gold leafing. The carvings and statuary. The clock faces. All of it bespeaks a time and place where craftsmanship and beauty were the norm. The clock tower and pediment on Lyon's city hall (Hôtel de Ville) especially struck me.
