100 Strangers: Antje et Stephanie

Antje and Stephanie at the Wistub du Sommelier : Bergheim, FR

I rarely post more than one entry of 100 anything once a week, but this past weekend was full of all kinds of great people. Lilo and her St. Bernard, Amy. John the tablecloth guy. Today, I'm featuring Antje and Stephanie. Antje and her husband, Patrick, run a fabulous little brasserie/bistro in Bergheim called the Wistub du Sommelier.* Patrick is the chef and Antje is the sommelier. Stephanie is one of the restaurant's wait staff. The Wistub produces fabulous Alsatian culinary experiences. (I've written about their restaurant here, here, and here.) The restaurant also has been featured in the New York Times and is well worth a visit. This won't be the last time I go there.

Gem├╝tlichkeit : Wistub du Sommelier :
Bergheim, FR

*In previous entries, I misspelled the name of the restaurant as Winstub. It's actually Wistub.

I hope I get there someday. They look like lovely people and it's a nice shot!

Tash: Thanks!

Maya: We'll go when you get back. Promise.

P.S. I believe a wansch is Schweizer-Deutsch for wunsch. :-D

Wait, Maya hasn't been there?? How did that happen?

I LOVE that photo, Janet -- you should send it to her, she would also love it. Um, I would like to have a copy too. :-) Bitte bitte bitte?

Di: Well, let's see. The first time I went was with you, Scott and Lara last year. Then the second time was in January, when Janeen was here. This past weekend would be my third time at the Wistub. We've talked about going when Maya and I have been up there, but then for one reason or another, we haven't gone. I've promised her we'd go when we're back from the States.

And yes, you can have a copy. Bring a flash drive with you this weekend and we'll download a bunch of photos for you.
