What So Proudly We Hailed...

What So Proudly We Hailed : Geneva, CH

During the annual World Health Assembly, WHO flies the flags of its 193 member states. I snapped this photo of my country's flag. My understanding is, they're flown in alphabetical order, but I'm not sure if that's done in French (États-Unis d'Amérique) or English (United States of America). I suppose, if I researched the flags around it, I'd get my answer...

Speaking of the U.S. of A., I'm off to the States for two weeks--a week in Seattle and a week in Washington, D.C. I hope to post pictures from both. We'll see what time permits.

Quite the gap between Tanzania and USA if in English.

Looks like English which would make sense since all the business is conducted in English, no?

Theron: There does seem to be a gap. I'll have to ask around, I guess.

Maya: Well, it's one of the six official languages of the UN and one of the two working languages. Normally, the protocol for stuff like this defaults to French, so I'm not 100% what to make of this...
