Young / Old

Young and old at the edge of Lac Leman : Nyon, CH

No, it isn't 2 Things Challenge, but it could be. On the left, ancient Roman columns and on the right, a young couple enjoying a picnic with Lake Geneva (Lac Leman) in the background.

Petit RenFair

Men of Action : Château de Chillon : Montreux, CH

I've never been to a renaissance faire in the U.S., though I know they're quite popular. Château de Chillon hosts its own version in December and includes costumed artisans and tradespeople, servants and priests, and a host of other folk enjoying the opportunity to dress up and play renaissance or medieval for a few weeks. These are just a few of many.

Sunday Chat

Sunny, Sunday Chat : Brigels, CH

I spotted these two folks sitting outside a restaurant, chatting. Despite the stiff wind, they looked comfortable and warm in the lee of the building with the sun warming the wall behind them. I'm sure it was a lovely conversation!

Side-by-side comparison: Which do you prefer? (Click images to enlarge.)

Now here's the challenge: I can't decide which photo I like better. The one I chose to post above or a shot I took a few seconds later with more people in the picture. What do you think?

Caption This...

My dream is to one day pilot a whirligig. It could happen. I already have the coat for it...

This week's "Caption This..." photo was taken in Annecy, France, where we went to see a cute town and to have raclette for dinner.

Last week's photo caption winner is Carolyn of Oakland Daily Photo, who wrote, "Look lively, lads. The recruiters for Cirque Du Soleil are in town!" The runner up was Melissa, who provided dialogue for all three statues. To see last week's photo and caption, go here.

Updated -- February 22: The winner of this week's captioning contest is L.A. Cochran. See her caption above. The runner up was Carolyn of Oakland Daily Photo with "Am I really seeing this or did I forget to take my medication?"

Thanks everyone for playing along!

Couples

Thoughtful Waiting : Starbucks : Zurich, CH

Just a couple more shots of various people I saw in Zurich. I'd add them to my 100 Strangers, but I didn't introduce myself or get names. In the next day or two, I'll feature a young man whose picture I took and name I got while wandering around Old Town Geneva. Stay tuned...
