Animal Shoot

Lindan : Geneva, CH

Our friends, Jason and Everett, adopted a new kitten in their lives -- a Bengal named Lindan. We asked if we could shoot a few photos as Maya wants to include animals in her photography portfolio. A couple of shots here and more to be seen here.

The Maddix-Peachey's also have an African Grey Parrot named Olive. I took a few snaps of her, too.

And, their house has an enormously fabulous garden, which Charlie loved! He had a good time, too.

A Man and His Cat

I spy... : Cordes-sur-Ciel, FR

I caught this guy and his cat catching a little sun and watching the tourists hike up the hill to the fortified section of Cordes-sur-Ciel.

Protective : Cordes-sur-Ciel, FR

"It's okay, Little One. I'll protect you." I'm sure the cat was a bit concerned, because Charlie was along on this outing. Little did he know he had nothing to worry about. Charlie has learned to be more afraid of cats than they should be of him.

400

Fat cat, completely disinterested in fat pigeons : Marsaille, FR

This is my 400th post on The F-Stops Here... Sorry the photo is not more auspicious for the occasion. This is a picture I took of a cat down in Marseille, lounging in the sun and completely ignoring the flock of pigeons in his midst. He could have had his pick, but he never budged.

Kool Kats

Slipper : Nyon, CH

Anyone who knows me knows I'm not a big fan of cats, but the other night, we went to friend Alice's house after photography class for a late dinner. While we were there, we met her two Burmese-mix cats, Slipper and Willow. They're bred to be friendly and attentive, unlike most cat breeds, and I must say that these were two pretty cool cats. My photo of Willow didn't turn out that well, but I'm sure we'll be going back and I'll get a good picture of him yet.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon romps through the garden

This is Dr Lala's cat, Cinnamon. I caught this snap of her the other evening when she followed me in the garden. Almost like a puppy dog. She's a sweet cat.*

* My use of the words "sweet" and "cat" in the same sentence should not be construed as an indication that I am becoming an ardent cat lover. I am not.

Bad Säckingen

View from Säckingenbrücke : Swiss-German Border

Took another trip to Basel to visit my friends, Di and Scott. We went to Bad Säckingen in Germany. To get there, we parked in Stein, Switzerland, and then walked across a wooden bridge built in 1272. The bridge is over the Rhine (Rhein) River. About half way across, there's a line painted across the width of the bridge signifying the border.

St. Fridolinsmünster : Bad Säckingen, DE

Bad Säckingen's loveliest feature is its baroque cathedral, St. Fridolinsmünster. Here are just a few pictures from this lovely city on the southernmost edge of the Schwarzwald (Black Forest).

Catty

Shadow cat

Dr Lala has done a lovely job landscaping around her patio. This little cat is on one of the planter boxes along the side of the house. I liked the shadow it was casting against the wall.
